Suspect Taken into Custody Clears Luray Police Presence

A heavy police presence in Luray, Virginia was cleared on Monday morning after a suspect was taken into custody.

The incident occurred around 11 p.m. Sunday night when the Luray Police Department asked residents living near Caterpillar Drive to stay indoors while officers responded to the scene.

Other residents were advised to avoid the area until further notice, but authorities later confirmed that there was no longer a threat to the public.

Luray Police Chief Lonnie Foster told WHSV that this was a domestic situation and that the department would not be releasing any additional information at this time.
