Swindon Town Centre Cordon Lifted After Violent Incident Near McDonald's

A violent incident near McDonald's in Swindon town centre on Sunday morning has left one man rushed to hospital.

The incident occurred on Canal Walk, near Brunel West Car Park and McDonald's, at around 5:20 am. Multiple police cordons were put in place, as emergency services rushed to the scene.

According to Wiltshire Police, two men have been arrested - a 32-year-old man on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent (Section 18 GBH) and robbery, and a 24-year-old man treated for head injuries, who has been arrested on suspicion of affray.

The cordon that was in place at the scene has now been lifted. Businesses were open and running as normal by midday Sunday, with no signs of disorder.
