Syracuse Alumni Shine in Week 2 NFL Action
A handful of former Syracuse University football players made notable contributions to their respective teams in Week 2 of the NFL season. One standout performer was Andre Cisco, a safety for the New York Jets, who racked up five tackles and recorded one tackle for loss, as well as a forced fumble and a defended pass.
Cisco's efforts were part of an overall defensive battle that saw the Packers defeat the Jets 20-17 in overtime. Another former Orange player on the winning side was Zaire Franklin, who contributed seven tackles to the Green Bay defense.
On the other hand, Andre Szmyt, a kicker for the Cleveland Browns, played a crucial role in his team's shocking win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with three successful field goal attempts, including one from 50 yards out. Szmyt also made both of his PATs, accounting for 11 of Cleveland's 23 points.
