Take-Two Hunts Down GTA 6 Leaker with Subpoenas to Microsoft and Discord
Take-Two, the parent company of Rockstar Games, has launched an investigation into the recent GTA 6 leak. The company has filed multiple subpoenas in federal district court to obtain records from Microsoft and Discord related to accounts involved in posting and sharing the leaks.
The subpoenas cite 'copyrighted material' that includes audiovisual content, artwork, images, dialogue, or other creative elements. Take-Two is seeking information such as account IDs, registration emails, IP addresses, phone numbers, and any associated device identifiers from Microsoft and Discord.
One of the Discord servers listed in the subpoena belongs to Australian GTA YouTuber Matthew Judge, who goes by the handle DarkViperAU. However, he claims not to know anything about the leak and suggests that his server may have been visited by the leaker.
The investigation is ongoing, and Rockstar Games has yet to comment on the matter. The safe approach for fans is to avoid downloading files claiming to be leaked GTA 6 builds until more information becomes available.
