Take-Two Interactive, the parent company of Rockstar Games, has taken steps to protect its intellectual property in the lead-up to the release of Grand Theft Auto VI. The company has subpoenaed Microsoft and Discord over leaked gameplay footage that appears to infringe on copyrights held for the game.

The leaked clips, watermarked by a person or group going by 'CyberLeak', show what seems to be GTA VI protagonist Jason Duvall engaging in various activities, including driving, flying an airplane, using a taser, and attacking someone with a wrench. The footage has been circulating online ahead of Rockstar's big extended preview of the game, set to debut on Netflix on August 27th.

The subpoenas, filed on Thursday, give Microsoft and Discord until September 4th to produce the requested information. Take-Two is looking to identify 'alleged infringers at issue' and has specified that copyrighted material includes 'audiovisual content, artwork, images, dialogue, or other creative elements.'
