Take-Two Sues Microsoft to Unmask GTA 6 Leaker
Take-Two Interactive, the parent company of Rockstar Games, has issued two DMCA subpoenas to Microsoft and Discord in an effort to identify the individual or individuals behind a series of Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6) gameplay leaks. The leaks have been made public through various channels, including Discord servers and GitHub repositories.
The subpoenas, filed on August 20, request that Microsoft provide information about every account that communicated in three named Discord servers since June 1. This includes device identifiers, registration and last-login IP addresses, phone numbers, linked Google and Xbox connections, and OneDrive contents. The requests also ask for the MachineGuid identifier, a Windows value generated during installation, which remains stable across hardware changes unless the OS drive is replaced.
The affected Discord servers are Ødyssey.gg!Odyssey, and DarkViperAU. Matthew 'DarkViperAU' Judge, an Australian creator who operates one of these servers, has denied any involvement in the leaks, stating he does not know anything about them.
