Tambrands, owned by Procter & Gamble, is planning to expand its factory in Auburn, Maine. The $40 million project aims to increase storage capacity at the facility, which currently produces tampons and other feminine hygiene products.

The Auburn Planning Board has given Tambrands conditional approval for the expansion, but the plans still require approval from the Maine Department of Environmental Protection and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
