Tapestry Integrates Coach and Kate Spade into Google's AI Shopping Ecosystem
Tapestry is making its Coach and Kate Spade products purchasable directly from Google Search, thanks to a new integration of their Universal Commerce Protocol (UCP) with Google's AI shopping ecosystem. This means that when shoppers discover a Coach or Kate Spade item while using Gemini or AI Mode, a 'Buy' button appears inline.
According to Joanne Crevoiserat, CEO at Tapestry, consumer behaviors are evolving rapidly, and their goal is for shoppers to find and engage with their brands at the moment when inspiration strikes. This could be in-store, on their website, or even through a conversation with AI.
The UCP-powered checkout is now live in the US, with plans to expand across geographies in the future. Tapestry's Chief Information and Digital Officer, Yang Lu, explained that they built this layer to work with existing operations today, but it's truly protocol agnostic, allowing for quick integration into new AI environments as consumer behaviors evolve.
The strategic investments made by Tapestry in technology capabilities and infrastructure have enabled them to implement the UCP, which is also backed by several tech and e-commerce companies. The integration of Coach and Kate Spade products with Google's AI shopping ecosystem represents a significant step forward for both parties, providing customers with a seamless shopping experience.
