TAROM Takes First Boeing 737 MAX as Part of Fleet Modernization Efforts

Romanian airline TAROM has taken delivery of its first Boeing 737 MAX aircraft as part of its fleet renewal programme. The new plane, named Mircea Lucescu, will connect Bucharest to major European capitals and is designed to reduce fuel consumption and carbon emissions by about 20% compared to the aircraft it replaces.

The airline operates four Boeing 737 Next-Generation planes and has leased two 737 MAX aircraft from CDB Aviation. The delivery marks an important step in TAROM's transformation process, with fleet renewal and operational efficiency key components of its restructuring plan.

TAROM's CEO, Cristian Anghel, said the addition of the 737 MAX aircraft is essential for the company's modernization efforts, enabling it to achieve operational efficiency. CDB Aviation's Head of Commercial, EMEA, Gavan Daly, noted that the delivery supports TAROM's fleet modernisation plans and their partnership with the airline.
