TBAL Delivers 400th Apache Fuselage, Eyes Javelin Missile Co-Production
Tata Boeing Aerospace Limited (TBAL), the joint venture between Boeing and Tata Advanced Systems Limited, has reached a major milestone in India's integration into global aerospace manufacturing. The company has delivered its 400th fuselage for the AH-64E Apache attack helicopter from its 52,000-square-metre facility in Hyderabad.
The fuselages are manufactured entirely in India before being integrated into Apache helicopters supplied to customers worldwide, including the US Army.
TBAL has also supplied fuselages for the six Apache helicopters delivered to the Indian Army in 2025. The company is expanding its defence manufacturing ambitions beyond aerospace structures and has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Javelin Joint Venture to explore co-producing the Javelin All Up Round (AUR) missile in India.
The proposed arrangement is expected to connect US defence manufacturing capabilities with India's assembly and production ecosystem, creating high-technology manufacturing jobs in India while supporting production activity in the US.
