TCL Brings Xbox App to Its Smart TVs in Over 25 Countries
Microsoft has partnered with TCL to bring the Xbox app to over 25 countries' smart TVs. The service is now available on Google TV, which powers most of TCL's television lineup.
The app requires three things to play games: a compatible TCL set, a supported wireless controller, and an active Xbox Game Pass subscription with cloud gaming. The app itself is free, but the games are streamed from the Game Pass catalogue or players' existing libraries.
Profiles, saves, achievements, and friends lists will automatically transfer between devices. Microsoft has also announced that it will introduce pay-as-you-go access to cloud streaming in November, allowing TV owners without an Xbox console to play games for a fee.
