Team8 Secures $365 Million for AI Startup Investments
Israel-based venture capital group Team8 has secured $365 million in fresh funding to support local startups and founders building software infrastructure for securely managing artificial intelligence workloads.
The investment, backed by prominent companies such as Walmart, Cisco, and Moody's, brings Team8's total assets under management to nearly $2 billion. The new funds will be used to invest in 16 Israeli-founded AI startups across various sectors, including cybersecurity, software infrastructure, fintech, and digital health.
Team8 Managing Partner Sarit Firon emphasized the transformative impact of AI on company building, stating that 'AI is fundamentally rewriting the economics of company building.' With the ability to build world-class software in weeks what once took years, competitive advantage will come from solving fundamental enterprise problems that remain relevant across technology cycles.
The venture group plans to invest $5 million to $10 million in each startup and has already achieved significant exits with the sale of Talon Cyber Security and Dig Security to Palo Alto Networks for a combined $1 billion.
