Teamsters Shut Down Coca-Cola Operations in Ohio Over Contract Dispute
More than 300 Teamsters in Ohio have joined the strike against Coca-Cola at its Anderson, Indiana facility. The workers are represented by Teamsters Local 135 and have been on strike since September 2 over contract negotiations.
The union claims that Coca-Cola has engaged in unfair labor practices and is negotiating in bad faith. Key points of contention include wages, healthcare, and sticking to the status quo.
According to Jeff Padellaro, director of the Teamsters Brewery, Bakery and Soft Drink Conference, 'The company has been failing to seriously bargain without members, and we aren't going to stand for it.'
