Tech Giants Face Backlash as Google Downgrades Gemini Access and AI-Driven Chaos Spreads

Google has announced it will be downgrading access to its Gemini free tier starting October 9. Currently, users without a Google AI subscription can access Gemini 3.1 Pro and Gemini 3.6 Flash. However, after the change, they will only have access to Gemini 3.6 Flash-Lite. Those with an AI Plus subscription will still be able to use Gemini 3.6 Flash and Flash-Lite, while those with Google AI Pro or AI Ultra subscriptions will retain access to the full range of models.

In other tech news, South Korea's president has ordered an investigation into recent data leaks in the financial industry. The government wants institutions to tighten security measures and carry out comprehensive inspections. The opposition party is calling for an investigation into possible North Korean involvement.

A federal judge in Oklahoma has ruled that a police officer's use of an automated license plate reader system was unconstitutional. The judge said the search was not supported by probable cause and violated Fourth Amendment rights.
