Tech Giants Unite Against AI-Driven Hacks: A Call to Arms

Major tech companies have come together to call for a defensive surge against AI-driven hacks. In an open letter, companies including OpenAI, Anthropic, Microsoft, Alphabet, and Amazon urged governments and industry leaders to prioritize cyber defense ahead of the impending threat.

The joint letter, signed by over 100 companies, warned that AI-enabled cyberattacks will become increasingly widespread in the coming months as models around the world become more capable. The tech giants called on governments to expedite trusted access programs, which would give certain companies access to more powerful AI models before they are available to the general public.

The letter also urged all organizations to make cyber defense an immediate leadership priority. This comes amid growing concerns that advances in AI will supercharge hacking campaigns, with rogue elements already deploying large language models to break into organizations around the world.
