Tech Giants Unite for Sustainable Data Center Power
Nvidia, Google, and Emerald AI have formed an alliance to dynamically manage the electricity use of data centers in response to grid conditions. The AI Energy Management Alliance (AEMA) aims to reduce energy waste and lower costs for the companies involved.
The coalition's goal is to optimize energy usage by taking into account real-time grid conditions, Varun Sivaram, Founder and CEO of Emerald AI, explained. This approach will allow data centers to adapt their power consumption in sync with the available grid capacity, reducing strain on the electricity infrastructure.
The AEMA partnership brings together three prominent players in the tech industry: Nvidia, a leading provider of graphics processing units (GPUs), Google, a major cloud computing service provider, and Emerald AI, a developer of AI-powered energy management solutions. By working together, these companies hope to set a new standard for sustainable data center operations.
