Tech Leaders Make Key Appointments Amid Industry Shifts

Several high-profile appointments have been made in the tech industry over the past week. Lenovo has appointed Mark Thornton as sales chief technology officer for its UK and Ireland operations, a newly created role that will see him work closely with partners.

The vendor's general manager, Andy Rhodes, said: 'Mark's appointment comes at an important moment for our customers and partners, as organisations look to harness AI, modernise infrastructure and build more resilient, flexible technology foundations.'

Gigamon has appointed Grant Yacomeni as chief information security officer. The company's chief operating officer, Gareth Maclachlan, said: 'Grant has spent his career operating in some of the world's most demanding cyber security environments. His experience will be invaluable as we strengthen security across Gigamon and bring an even deeper practitioner perspective to our customers.'

Optiv has appointed Sean Forkan as its chief revenue officer to lead the global go-to-market strategy. He comes with a CV that includes time at VMware/Broadcom, Cisco, Oracle, Symantec/Veritas and EY.
