Tech Stocks Lead Wall Street Rally Amid Easing Bond Yields

The stock market on Wall Street experienced a rally on Thursday, driven by declines in bond yields and gains from big technology companies. The S&P 500 rose 1.1%, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 1.2% and the Nasdaq composite closed 1.4% higher. Microsoft increased by 2.7%, Apple by 1%, and Meta by 3%. Nvidia's shares also rose after it announced plans to buy Hugging Face for $13 billion, a move that underscores the growing importance of artificial intelligence.

The easing in bond yields is seen as a positive sign for the market, which has been experiencing volatility due to concerns over inflation. The yield on the 10-year Treasury dropped to 4.77% from 4.79%, while the yield on the 2-year Treasury fell to 4.34%. Investors are taking these developments as a sign that the Federal Reserve may hold off on raising interest rates, at least for now.

However, not all companies in the technology sector saw gains. Broadcom's shares fell despite its better-than-expected quarterly results and forecast of doubling AI chip revenue by 2028. Hewlett Packard Enterprise also raised its guidance for cloud and AI demand strength but finished the day with a smaller gain.
