Technip Energies Unveils Modular SnapLNG 1.5 Solution for Faster LNG Capacity Expansion
Technip Energies has launched SnapLNG™ 1.5, a standardized, modular and electrified liquefied natural gas (LNG) solution designed in collaboration with Honeywell Technologies and Siemens Energy. The platform is based on a 1.5 million-tonne-per-annum LNG train and aims to accelerate capacity additions while improving cost predictability, execution reliability and operational efficiency.
The launch comes as global LNG demand is expected to increase significantly over the next decade, with more than 200 MTPA of additional capacity required by 2035. The United States is expected to contribute about half of this growth, increasing the need for scalable solutions that can support faster capacity expansion.
SnapLNG™ 1.5 has been designed specifically for small- to mid-scale LNG projects and combines the capabilities of all three companies. Technip Energies contributes its project execution expertise and modularization capabilities, while Honeywell Technologies provides gas pretreatment and liquefaction technologies. Siemens Energy contributes electrified turbomachinery and compression technologies.
According to Technip Energies, the combination of standardized design, modular construction and electric motor-driven liquefaction can reduce project development schedules by up to two years. Electrification may also help lower operational emissions compared with conventional equipment configurations.
