Teen Killed While Crossing Freeway Near Spring High School
A 16-year-old student from Spring High School has tragically lost their life after being hit by a pickup truck while attempting to cross the North Freeway near Louetta Road in Harris County, Texas.
According to the Harris County Sheriff's Office (HCSO), two teens were at Home Depot and decided to cross the freeway on foot. While one teen saw a pickup truck heading their way and stopped, the other did not, resulting in the fatal collision.
The driver of the pickup truck attempted to slow down and avoid hitting the student, and stayed at the scene to cooperate with the investigation.
Deputies confirmed that both teens attend Spring High School, but could not confirm whether they were supposed to be in school at the time of the crash. The incident occurred on Friday afternoon and the student was pronounced dead at a hospital on Saturday.
