Temple Hill Cemetery Unveils Hidden Histories at Thirteenth Annual Spirit Walk
The Temple Hill Cemetery in Geneseo hosted its thirteenth annual Spirit Walk event on September 26th, titled 'Carved in Stone: Explore the Spirits, Symbols, & Stories of Temple Hill.'
The guided tour featured Victorian-era performers sharing the history behind influential and historic families' gravesites.
The cemetery was founded in 1807 by James and Williams Wadsworth on three acres of land, which has since expanded to 15 acres with over six thousand individuals laid to rest there.
The tour included nine different gravesites, including those of Hezekiah Allen, Noah North, Elisha Bow, David Piffard, Sinclair family, Charles Fridd, George W. Booher, Ethelbert Honeywell, and the Wadsworth families.
