TempraMed VIVI Cap Smart Now Connects to Apple Health and Google Fit
TempraMed Technologies has introduced a significant update to its VIVI Cap Smart platform, enabling connectivity with Apple Health and Google Fit. This advancement allows patients using injectable medications like insulin pens and GLP-1 therapies to integrate their medication data into popular health ecosystems. The device captures injection activity, temperature exposure, and provides medication reminders, sharing this information with caregivers and healthcare professionals.
The company's connected-device and subscription model aims to generate recurring software-enabled revenue alongside hardware sales. TempraMed's broader roadmap includes plans for connected solutions for epinephrine auto-injectors, vials, biologics, and multi-medication storage formats. This move aligns with the healthcare industry's shift toward home-based care, wearable devices, and AI-enabled health platforms.
According to TempraMed's CEO Ron Nagar, the VIVI Cap Smart platform addresses a critical gap in digital health by making injectable medication use visible. 'VIVI Cap Smart is about much more than protecting medication from heat and cold; it turns the injectable medication into a connected data point,' Nagar stated. The platform is designed to work across multiple pen brands and therapy categories without requiring new solutions for each format.
The announcement highlights the potential for strategic partnerships with wearable, digital-health, AI, pharma, medical-device, and payer platforms seeking new clinical signals and better patient engagement. TempraMed believes this connectivity represents an important milestone in advancing its strategy to make injectable medication use visible within leading health and wellness ecosystems.
