John Ternus's first SEC filing as Apple's CEO has been made public, revealing his starting stock position and a new restricted stock unit award. The filings were submitted on September 1, 2026, the day he became chief executive.

Ternus's Form 3 lists 34,155 shares of common stock held directly, plus 306,231 restricted stock units, spread across seven separate outstanding award tranches. Most of these tranches are standard time-based awards with vesting schedules running from 2025 through 2030. Two of the seven are performance-based, tied to Apple's total shareholder return relative to the S&P 500.

A separate Form 4 reports a new grant of 7,690 restricted stock units at $0 per unit, since equity awards are granted rather than bought. The vesting schedule for this award is 12.5% on March 15, 2027, and the remaining units vest in semiannual installments over a four-year period ending September 15, 2030.
