Tesla Surpasses Estimates with Q3 Sales
Tesla's stock price surged on Friday after the electric vehicle maker reported its global sales numbers for the third quarter. The company sold 486,532 vehicles between July and September, a two percent decrease from the same period last year.
The results exceeded analyst expectations, with JPMorgan Chase predicting sales of 482,000 units. Tesla's global sales were impacted by a surge in electric vehicle sales in the US during the same quarter last year due to the expiration of a tax credit at the end of September 2025.
However, a Middle East crisis has boosted interest in electric vehicles, contributing to Tesla's higher-than-expected sales. The company did not release separate figures for US sales, but analysts pointed to increased data from Europe and lower sales in China as key factors.
