Texas Firms Partner on Pro Bono Clinics for Low-Income Families
Law firms and corporate counsel in Texas are teaming up to help families prepare essential legal documents. Recently, attorneys from Dykema and Honeywell Technologies volunteered with the San Antonio Legal Services Association to assist eight families with guardianships.
The clinic was held at the Multi-Assistance Center at Morgan's Wonderland, where lawyers participated both in person and virtually. Miranda McCardle, SALSA's communications and outreach manager, said 'When families have a fair chance to protect the people they love, our whole community is stronger.'
In another effort, Vinson & Elkins and LyondellBasell partnered with Houston Volunteer Lawyers for an estate planning clinic. The lawyers helped 15 clients prepare essential documents, including wills and powers of attorney.
