Thailand Adopts Boeing's CBTA Solution to Modernize Pilot Training

The Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT) has become the first global aviation regulator to adopt Boeing's Competency-Based Training and Assessment (CBTA) solution. This move aims to modernize pilot training standards across Thailand, with participating flight schools gaining access to CBTA learning content designed to strengthen pilot competencies and improve training effectiveness.

The initiative comes as Boeing forecasts a need for 66,000 new pilots across Southeast Asia over the next 20 years due to fleet expansion and rising air travel demand. By adopting CBTA principles, Thai flight schools will be positioned to produce pilots with both technical and behavioral skills required for airline careers.

Chris Broom, Vice President of Boeing Commercial Training Solutions, stated that the collaboration is aimed at equipping future pilots with the knowledge and skills to safely operate in an increasingly complex aviation environment. Iratrachar Amornpipat, Personnel Licensing Department Manager at CAAT, noted that leveraging Boeing's expertise will help strengthen training quality in Thailand and support the country's continued aviation growth.
