Thailand is implementing new visa regulations that affect tourists from around the world. From September 15th, travellers from 60 countries, including the US, UK, Canada, and Australia, will no longer be eligible for a 60-day visa exemption. Instead, they will receive visa-free entry for up to 30 days.

The reduction in visa-free stay is due to recent crimes involving foreigners in Thailand. The new regulation also removes provisions that allowed short-term work activities and business engagements without a formal visa.

Travellers who entered Thailand before the new rules take effect will keep the length of stay granted upon arrival. However, land border entries for most travellers will be limited to two times per calendar year.
