Thrive Capital Pours $215 Million into Amazon Amid AI Push

Joshua Kushner's Thrive Capital has made a significant investment in Amazon.com Inc., purchasing approximately $215 million worth of shares. This move is part of the venture firm's strategy to invest in public companies, as announced earlier this year when it invested around $100 million in Shopify Inc.

The investment gives Thrive exposure to Amazon, which recently surpassed $3 trillion in market value, becoming only the fifth company to reach that milestone. As a prominent player in artificial intelligence, Amazon is developing agentic AI shopping tools and computing infrastructure for other businesses.

Thrive has a history of investing in innovative companies, including SpaceX, Stripe, and OpenAI, which is also backed by Amazon. The firm's public market holdings include Figma Inc., Stubhub Holdings Inc., and Oscar Health, co-founded and incubated by Kushner.
