TikTok, Disney Unveil Content-Sharing Deal for Creators
TikTok and Disney have announced a content-sharing deal that will allow creators to use Disney-owned characters, stories, and scenes from its films and TV shows in short-form videos on TikTok. The agreement marks the first time TikTok videos will appear on another platform.
The pilot program is set to launch in 'the coming months' with plans to expand it to additional markets. As part of the deal, creators will have access to a trove of content from Disney's brands, including Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, FX and more.
TikTok's global head of entertainment, Dawn Yang, said in a statement that 'creators are at the heart of everything we do at TikTok. Their creativity extends the life of films and shows into conversations that fans discover and share.'
