Tim Cook Receives $47 Million Compensation Package as Apple Executive Chair
Tim Cook, Apple's former CEO, will receive $47 million in his new role as Executive Chair of the Board. This was revealed by Bloomberg data, which shows that his target compensation for the 2027 fiscal year is nearly comparable to that of his successor, John Ternus. According to official documents filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Ternus's total target compensation will be approximately $58 million.
Cook's base salary in his new executive role will be reduced from $3 million to $2 million, but he will receive a $45 million target stock package, bringing his total compensation for 2027 to $47 million. This is significantly lower than the $74.3 million he earned as CEO in 2025.
Experts believe that Cook's high income is due to his continued active involvement in management, with Bloomberg analyst Mark Gurman noting that he will continue to manage critical areas for the company, such as relations with the U.S. and Chinese governments, as well as memory chip supply chains.
