Tokenized Stocks Go Mainstream as Dinari Brings Blockchain to Wall Street
Dinari, a San Mateo-based company founded by Stripe and Apple alums, is revolutionizing the way people buy and sell stocks. The startup has partnered with Circle to offer tokenized stocks to U.S. investors, allowing them to hold shares in self-custody wallets for the first time.
The entire S&P 500 will be put on the blockchain, making it possible for users to buy and sell stocks instantly, without the need for traditional brokerage services. Dinari's model replaces the traditional brokerage stack with a wallet-based system where users can fund accounts instantly with the stablecoin USDC.
According to CEO Gabriel Otte, the token itself will be the trusted ledger of the stock, allowing users to truly own it. The company is seeking to bridge the $300 billion stablecoin market and the more than $60 trillion U.S. equities market.
