Tower of Terror's Facelift Underway at Disney's Hollywood Studios
The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror at Disney's Hollywood Studios is getting some TLC as a repainting project gets underway. The first sign of the renovation was scaffolding installed on the front facade above the gift shop, which has since expanded across the building and up to nearly the top. Crews have also begun priming the decorative friezes on the center roof, along with the edge of the roof and a section of wall.
The queue refurbishment that started in early May was just the beginning of the changes taking place at Tower of Terror. The scaffolding doesn't appear to be obstructing the view of the elevator windows, allowing guests to continue experiencing the thrill of the ride as normal. Behind the scaffolding, black tarps are protecting decorative windows from future paint work.
The repainting project is an exciting development for fans of the iconic attraction, which has been a staple at Disney's Hollywood Studios since 1994. While the exact timeline for completion isn't clear, one thing is certain: Tower of Terror will be looking fresher than ever once the renovation is complete.
