'Toy Story 5' Hits Disney+ as Highest-Grossing Toy Story Film Ever
Disney has announced that 'Toy Story 5' will stream on Disney+ starting September 23rd. The film, released in theaters on June 19th, became the highest-grossing Toy Story film and the third-highest-grossing Pixar film of all time.
The movie follows Woody, Jessie, Buzz Lightyear, and other toys as they face a new challenge with Lilypad, a high-tech tablet device. Bonnie becomes fascinated by Lilypad, which starts replacing her playtime with toys. With Woody gone from the end of 'Toy Story 4', it's up to Jessie to lead Bonnie's room and get their owner playing again.
'Toy Story 5' quickly reached the $1 billion milestone, becoming one of the highest-grossing films of 2026. In its first weekend, the fivequel earned a franchise-best $160 million in North America and $312 million worldwide. It has now earned $1.1 billion globally, making it the highest-grossing movie in the Toy Story series.
The success of 'Toy Story 5' is so significant that its characters are moving into Disney World. Lilypad will use her tech to bring a new soundtrack to Alien Swirling Saucers in Hollywood Studios starting September 25th, featuring reimagined Toy Story songs and brand-new tunes spanning pop, country, EDM, and alt-rock.
