Toyota Venture Arm Hires Google Vet for Legal Leadership
Toyota's venture capital arm Woven Capital LP has hired Inga Goldbard as its first in-house lawyer and head of legal. Goldbard, a 40-year-old former general counsel for Google Ventures, will lead the company's legal efforts as it deploys its second $800 million fund to invest in growth-stage companies.
The new fund is part of Woven Capital's ongoing investment strategy, which has focused on artificial intelligence and spatial technology. In 2021, Toyota formed Woven Capital with an initial $1.6 billion commitment.
Growth-stage companies like Stoke Space Technologies Inc., a reusable rocket maker, have been targets for the new fund.
