Trailblazers Unite: The Power of Community in Salesforce Admins' Success
Gordon Lee stumbled upon Salesforce at his first job 20 years ago and was struck by its cutting-edge technology. At that time, people were still struggling with basic concepts like downloading files.
Lee was assigned to administer the company's backend call center and felt overwhelmed as he had to figure things out on his own. He recalls going to online forums and consulting expensive experts to resolve issues.
However, during his research, Lee discovered in-person meetups of solo admins who shared their experiences and solutions with each other. These volunteer-led gatherings allowed them to commiserate and share knowledge, helping each other overcome common challenges.
Lee credits the Trailblazer community for its focus on people over technology. He notes that as administrators progress, they shift from focusing 90% on tech to 10%, as they learn to navigate complex systems.
