Tropical Americas Land Construction Advances at Disney’s Animal Kingdom
Construction work on the new Tropical Americas land at Disney’s Animal Kingdom is making visible progress, with crews actively installing key structural elements in full view of park guests. The most notable advancement is the installation of metal lath and corner bead on the entrance archway for Pueblo Esperanza. This galvanized steel mesh serves as the final preparation layer before the stucco is applied, ensuring the wet cement adheres properly.
Beyond the archway, additional construction details are emerging. Workers have applied a yellow-painted block to some buildings and are framing roof peaks. Polyglass waterproofing membrane is being installed on another side of a yellow brick building, while a large dirt pile and bare cinderblock structures contrast with the themed walls and completed entrance pillars nearby.
Several former DinoLand, U.S.A. structures have been covered with Typar house wrap in preparation for new materials and theming. Meanwhile, work on the mountain and the Encanto Casita continues, with the latter now resembling its concept art more closely each day. The ride, Antonio’s Fiesta de Encanto, is set on the day Antonio receives his gift of speaking to animals.
Disney fans are encouraged to share their excitement about the upcoming Tropical Americas land on social media, with regular updates available through WDW News Today on various social platforms.
