Trump Accused of Acting Like Salesman in Boeing Deal with Bangladesh

Aviation expert Kazi Wahid ul Alam from Bangladesh commented on US President Donald Trump's behavior during his interactions with Bangladesh Prime Minister Tarique Rahman. According to Alam, Trump acted like a salesman when it came to promoting Boeing aircraft and other products to Bangladesh.

In a letter, Trump expressed gratitude to the prime minister for purchasing Boeing aircraft. The sale involves 14 aircraft valued at $3.7 billion, which will be delivered between 2031 and 2035. Biman Bangladesh Airlines has already signed an agreement with Boeing for these planes.

Alam sees this as a positive development, considering Bangladesh is a growing market for aviation. He believes Trump is advocating for selling not only Boeing aircraft but also other products such as wheat to the country.

However, when discussing the decision to upgrade Cox's Bazar airport to an international one, Alam expressed caution. He doubts that this move will serve much purpose, given that Cox's Bazar is not a major hub and existing airports in Chittagong and Sylhet are underutilized.
