Trump Administration Revokes Over 250,000 Visas Amid Crime Crackdown
The State Department has revoked more than 250,000 visas during President Trump's second term in office. This milestone comes after they announced in August that they had revoked over 175,000 visas from foreign nationals who defrauded or called for violence against U.S. citizens, endangered national security, and committed crimes.
The majority of the revoked visas resulted from law enforcement encounters with the foreign nationals for these crimes. The State Department cited specific examples of crimes committed by foreign nationals whose visas were revoked, including one charged with felony kidnapping, human trafficking, and sexual exploitation of a minor; another arrested for driving with heroin and a blood alcohol level more than three times the legal limit; and one who helped orchestrate a $5 million Medicaid scam.
State Department spokesperson Tommy Pigott said 'Under President Trump and Secretary Rubio, the State Department has now revoked more than 250,000 visas, a historic milestone that reflects our unwavering commitment to protecting the American people.'
