Trump Administration's Noncitizen Voting Claims Disputed by Nevada Officials

The Trump administration's claims of up to 16,000 noncitizens registered to vote in Nevada have been disputed by state officials. According to a letter from Deputy Attorney General Greg Ott, none of the 185 people flagged as possible noncitizens had evidence of being noncitizens.

Nevada Secretary of State Cisco Aguilar said that because of limited information provided by the Trump administration, it's possible they are not looking at the same people. The state has asked for more information on these voters, but so far, only 'voter case numbers' have been provided, which can be shared among multiple individuals.

Aguilar stated that the records do not support DHS's claims and that there is no 100% certainty that both sides are looking at the same people due to potential duplicate voter IDs. The Trump administration has continued to make unsupported claims of noncitizen voting despite a lack of evidence.
