Trump Demands Immediate Reduction in US Fuel Prices
US President Donald Trump has called on oil companies to lower gasoline prices for American consumers. In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump targeted Mike Wirth, Chairman and CEO of Chevron, accusing him of not crediting his administration's work in assisting the oil industry.
Trump claimed that without the 'genius, foresight, strength, and stability' of his administration, the Oil Industry would be 'DEAD!'. He cited Chevron's recent success in Venezuela as an example, stating that they were thrown out but are now back and stronger than ever.
The president demanded that oil companies lower petrol prices immediately. Trump has made similar demands in the past, but economists have disputed his assertions and predict longer-term economic repercussions due to the conflict with Iran.
