US President Donald Trump has called on Chevron and other major oil companies to lower retail fuel prices for consumers, saying they should pass their gains on to Americans.

Trump specifically targeted Chevron CEO Mike Wirth, accusing him of not crediting his administration's efforts in helping the oil industry, particularly in creating a market in Venezuela.

The president took to social media to express his frustration, stating that 'without the genius, foresight, strength, and stability' of his administration, the oil industry would be 'DEAD!'
