US President Donald Trump has urged oil companies to lower gas prices for American consumers. He took aim at Chevron CEO Mike Wirth, accusing him of forgetting to acknowledge the role of his administration in supporting the industry.

In a statement on his Truth Social platform, Trump claimed that without his administration's support, 'the Oil Industry, and our Country itself, would be DEAD!'

He pointed to Chevron's operations in Venezuela as an example, saying that they were thrown out of the country under former President Hugo Chavez, but are now back and thriving due to his administration's efforts.

Trump also criticized other major oil companies, including ExxonMobil, for making too much money. He demanded that they 'get your consumer (retail!) Oil Prices DOWN, NOW!'
