Trump Demands Oil Price Cut, Claims Credit for Industry Revival
US President Donald Trump has called on oil companies to lower fuel prices, citing his administration's role in reviving the US oil industry.
In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump praised Chevron Chairman and Chief Executive Mike Wirth, but expressed disappointment that Wirth had not acknowledged his administration's contribution to the sector's success.
Trump claimed that without 'foresight, strength, and stability' from his administration, 'the Oil Industry, and our Country itself, would be DEAD!'
The president pointed out Chevron's return to Venezuela as an example of the industry's resurgence, stating that the company had previously been forced out but was now back 'far bigger and stronger than ever before', and expected to 'make a fortune'.
