Trump Demands Reimbursement From Countries Benefiting From Hormuz Oil Transit
US President Donald Trump made several statements on Monday about the Iran deal, oil prices, and Google's AI investment in Finland.
According to Trump, Iran is eager to negotiate a deal 'quickly and badly', but the decision to engage will be made by Washington. He predicted that oil prices will fall once the military conflict ends, saying they will 'drop like a rock'.
Trump also accused other countries of failing to support American operations in the Strait of Hormuz and demanded that they reimburse the US for protecting the oil transit corridor. He claimed that countries benefiting from shipping through the strait should pay up once the confrontation ends.
The President criticized Google's plans to invest $15 billion in Finnish data centers and digital infrastructure, stating that difficulties securing permits in the US drove the decision to invest overseas. He urged the company to reconsider its investment in Finland.
