Trump Hails Boeing's Massive Aircraft Deals with Turkish Airlines and Biman Bangladesh
President Donald Trump has hailed the major aircraft deals between Boeing Co. (NYSE:BA) and Turkish Airlines and Biman Bangladesh Airlines. The agreements, facilitated by Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, include purchases totaling 111 Boeing Airplanes with options for 50 more. This deal is a significant win for domestic manufacturing in America.
According to Trump, the 'tens of billions of dollars' generated from these deals will support 'tens of thousands of American Jobs.' He emphasized that building and exporting goods from the U.S. makes enterprises stronger.
Boeing has reached a deal with Turkish Airlines for 150 737 MAX aircraft, including an order for 100 737-8 airplanes with options for 50 more 737 MAX jets. The airline's Biman Bangladesh counterpart has placed an order for 11 787 Dreamliner and 737 MAX airplanes.
Trump's comments come as Chinese President Xi Jinping arrived in the U.S., potentially reigniting discussions on deals between Boeing and Chinese airlines. However, no specific details have been announced regarding these potential agreements.
