President Donald Trump has praised Boeing Co.'s (NYSE:BA) 737 MAX aircraft for its 'precise and powerful' design after a Flydubai plane involved in an incident on Wednesday miraculously survived a rapid descent. According to Trump, the aircraft managed to withstand forces 'far beyond' its design.

The incident occurred when the pilot, Captain Smit Machchhar, was allegedly stabbed during an altercation with his co-pilot while flying an Israel-bound Flydubai flight. The plane reportedly descended 17,400 feet in under two minutes before making an emergency landing in Saudi Arabia.

Trump commended Boeing CEO Kelly Ortberg and his team for the aircraft's resilience, saying it was a testament to their 'genius.' He also discussed the incident with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who informed him that a passenger with no flying experience took control of the plane after hearing cockpit screams and helped level it.
