US President Donald Trump praised Boeing for producing a plane that could withstand extreme forces during an emergency situation. The incident occurred on FlyDubai Flight FZ1073, a Boeing 737 MAX 8 traveling from Dubai to Tel Aviv, which plummeted nearly 14,000 feet in less than 30 seconds due to a violent attack by the co-pilot against the captain.
The wounded captain managed to unlock the cockpit door, allowing passengers to subdue the attacker before reserve crew members took control and landed the plane safely in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia. Both pilots were hospitalized after sustaining injuries, according to Tabuk airport officials.
Trump congratulated Boeing on the aircraft's ability to withstand the extreme forces it encountered during the midair emergency. He wrote on Truth Social that 'the 737 Max was able to withstand G Forces and Strain far beyond what it was designed and expected to do.'
