Trump Praises Boeing After Hijacking Attempt on 737 Max Flight
A Boeing 737 Max 8 aircraft was involved in an attempted hijacking on a Flydubai flight en route from Dubai to Tel Aviv. The plane plummeted over 17,400 feet in under two minutes as the pilots fought for control.
The alleged hijacker stabbed one of the pilots and tried to crash the plane, but was subdued by passengers and crew members. Two off-duty pilots took control of the aircraft and managed to level it out after a passenger intervened.
US President Donald Trump praised Boeing's 'genius' in designing an aircraft that could withstand extreme forces beyond its intended limits. He credited the company for building the finest commercial airliners, citing Boeing's role in securing deals with Saudi Arabia and Qatar during his 2025 visit to the Middle East.
