President Donald Trump announced that talks with Iran have resumed, and as a result, oil prices slid while stocks jumped. The S&P 500 rose 1.48%, the Nasdaq Composite soared 2.13%, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 1.32% to reach a new record close.

Tech companies led the session with Meta gaining almost 6% and Amazon rising over 4% to hit a record $3 trillion market capitalization. In contrast, Brent crude fell 4.77% to $83.74 a barrel, while West Texas Intermediate dropped over 5% to $80.15 a barrel.

Trump stated that ongoing talks with Iran are the last chance for the country's leadership to reach an agreement before 'decapitation.' He added, 'Hopefully they'll come to their senses.'
