Trump Slams Big Oil Profits as 'Too Much Money'
President Donald Trump recently criticized Exxon Mobile and Chevron over their profits during the current oil shortage. He stated that the companies are making 'too much money' due to the shortage, saying 'I don't like it.'
In a press conference, Trump expressed his concerns about the companies' earnings. He mentioned that after they deal with Iran, prices will drop significantly, but for now, Exxon Mobile and Chevron have made too much money.
Conservative commentator Pat Gray responded to Trump's statement by saying 'That's not capitalism.' Gray pointed out that Chevron is up 2% since February 27, closing at $189 a share, while today it reached $193 a share. Exxon Mobile has also seen modest gains of $6 per share.
Executive producer Keith Malinak added that these stock gains are 'not like how drug companies did with your vaccine.' Trump's comments have raised concerns among some about the government's stance on free market principles.
